Becoming a US Citizen
By admin | October 12, 2011
If you are thinking about becoming a US Citizen, there are a few ways you can go about it. Many people come over to the United States illegally and then begin the process. The best ways to become a US citizen include through education, work, and by simply applying.
The most common way an immigrant comes to the United States today is by illegally crossing the borders of Mexico. The United States has a border patrol. The only thing that happens to illegal crossings is that you are sent back to Mexico. There is no punishment for coming over but for you to be sent back. Many established Mexicans who live in the states who want to go back and visit their families on vacation to Mexico often turn themselves in as an illegal. This gives them a free ride home to visit their families and then they return to the states when they are ready to go back to work. Illegal crossing is not encouraged. However, it is the most common way to cross into the states.
If you are planning on living in the United States one day, a great way to ask for permission is by applying to a school. US Visa is often given by USCIS to students who are going to school at a continuing educational facility, like a college or a university. The government encourages people to further their education in the States. Once you are approved and you come to the states as a student, you can apply for your citizenship and start the process. The government doesn’t commonly deny an educated individual who can give to the community by working an honest job and paying taxes.
Many companies often look for bilingual individuals. You can perform a job search in America and see if you find a job that is right for you. If you can find a job that is willing to hire you, then you can apply for a Visa this way. Most working Visas are approved, especially if you have a business willing to sign off on it. The good news is, if you can get approved for a work Visa, it can be good for up to 10 years. Once it expires, you can get a new one. Renewing a Visa can be done by paying a fee. It doesn’t require anything from you but the cash to pay the fee.
Another way to become a citizen the right way is by simply applying for citizenship. The worst thing that can happen is that the government will tell you no. The best ways to get the government to approve you through becoming an American is to tell the truth. Your reasons to become a citizen cannot be because you want to live the free life. The government wants to know that you are going to be a benefit to society. If you plan on starting a business, make sure they know this. This is positive. If you plan on selling drugs, that won’t help you.
